Just begin...
I've had an off-and-off relationship with the internet ever since we met, in a year that I can't number but I can map.
Geographically: Curved iMac, pink desk, north east corner of front room, terraced house, East of Bristol, England.
Emotionally: Single parent, Coming Out, creatively alive, mentally precarious, financially unstable, socially rich.
I'm going to guess at placing this approximately 25 years ago, and its first use was to help me build my first business get a girlfriend.
I've used it since then, in a throwing things at it with my eyes closed kind of way. I've been helped by it enormously. I've navigated multiple home and country moves, a pandemic, and a war with it, and I've received an income because of it. But I've never, ever made friends with it.
I want to do that now. Why? Because I want to meet you, I want to make connections, I want to begin a conversation that might lead to a community.
So I need help from someone who is already a Friend of the Internet. And my first helper, the Man-in-the-Hat, tells me, just set it up Right Now, and Start it.
So here I go...just begin.
